How many guests can Glencairn Knoll accommodate?
Glencairn Knoll comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests with five king bedrooms and a queen sleeper sofa in the Speakeasy lounge. Whether you’re bringing grandparents, cousins, or lifelong friends, there’s room for everyone to spread out and relax.
Is the home family-friendly?
Absolutely! Families are who we built Glencairn Knoll for. We provide a Pack ‘n Play, high chair, booster seat, blackout curtains, children’s dinnerware, toys, games, and plenty of indoor and outdoor activities for every age.
Is the property pet-friendly?
Yes! We welcome up to two dogs (50 pounds or less). A pet fee applies, and we ask that all guests review our pet policy before booking.
Is there plenty of parking?
Yes. There’s ample free parking for multiple vehicles right on the property.
Are parties or events allowed?
No. Glencairn Knoll is designed for family vacations and relaxing getaways—not parties or large events. We value being good neighbors and ask guests to observe quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM.
Is the property private?
Very. Nestled on nearly four private acres, you’ll enjoy peaceful surroundings while still being only about 25 minutes from downtown Louisville.
Pool & Outdoor Living
Is the pool heated?
Yes. Our private saltwater pool can be heated during the swimming season for an additional pool heat fee. If you’d like pool heat, simply let us know before your arrival so everything is ready when you get here.
Is the hot tub available year-round?
Yes! The hot tub is available year-round (weather permitting), making it perfect after a day exploring Louisville or the Bourbon Trail.
Do you provide pool towels?
Yes. Pool towels are provided, so you can save room in your suitcase.
Do you provide pool floats?
We always provide pool noodles, and you’ll often find additional floats left behind by previous guests. Since those change throughout the season, we can’t guarantee exactly what will be available.
Is the pool fenced?
Yes. The pool area is enclosed with a safety fence and protected by an automatic safety cover.
Can children operate the pool cover?
No. For everyone’s safety, only adults may operate the automatic pool cover.
Do you provide firewood?
Yes! Firewood is provided for the outdoor fire pit so your family can enjoy evenings together under the stars.
Is there an outdoor grill?
Yes! We have a large Blackstone griddle connected directly to natural gas. That means no propane tanks to change and no worrying about running out of fuel halfway through dinner.
Inside the Home
Is the kitchen fully stocked?
Yes. We love to cook, so we’ve stocked the kitchen with the cookware, bakeware, dishes, serving pieces, utensils, and kitchen essentials you’ll need for everything from pancakes in the morning to large family dinners.
What coffee makers do you have?
Coffee lovers are covered! Our coffee bar includes:
- Keurig (single-serve pods)
- Traditional drip coffee maker (full pot)
- French press
- Whole coffee beans
- Coffee grinder
Whether you want a quick cup before everyone wakes up or fresh-ground coffee while watching the sunrise, we’ve got you covered.
Are linens and towels provided?
Yes. We provide all bed linens, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, and pool towels.
Is there a washer and dryer?
Yes. A stacked washer and dryer are conveniently located on the second floor for guest use.
Do you provide laundry supplies?
Yes. We provide starter laundry supplies for your stay.
Do you provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash?
Yes. Every shower is stocked with large refillable bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, so you don’t have to pack the basics.
Is Wi-Fi included?
Yes. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the home.
Are there Smart TVs?
Yes. Smart TVs are located throughout the home so you can log into your favorite streaming services.
Is there a hair dryer?
Yes. Hair dryers are provided in the bathrooms.
Is there an iron and ironing board?
Yes.

How close is Louisville?
Downtown Louisville is about 25 minutes away, making day trips easy while giving you the peace and privacy of the countryside.
Is the home close to the Bourbon Trail?
Yes. Many of Kentucky’s most popular distilleries are within a short drive, making Glencairn Knoll a wonderful home base for Bourbon Trail adventures.
Is there grocery shopping nearby?
Yes. Several grocery stores are just five minutes away, making it easy to stock up on food, drinks, and anything else you may need.
Booking & Policies
What time is check-in?
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM.
What time is check-out?
Check-out is 10:00 AM.
Is self check-in available?
Yes. You’ll receive your own unique door code before arrival, allowing you to check in whenever it’s convenient after 4:00 PM.
Can I request an early check-in or late checkout?
If our schedule allows, we’re happy to accommodate these requests. Just ask—we’ll always do our best.
What is your cancellation policy?
Guests may cancel up to 60 days before arrival in accordance with our rental agreement.
Because unexpected things happen, we strongly encourage purchasing travel insurance. To make that decision a little easier, we’ll split the cost of your travel insurance with you. Details on how this works are provided after booking.
Do you require a security deposit?
Instead of collecting a cash security deposit, we place a temporary authorization hold on your credit card before your stay. Assuming there is no damage or violation of the rental agreement, the hold is automatically released after checkout.
Are there hidden fees?
No. We believe in transparent pricing. All charges are clearly displayed before you complete your reservation.

We didn’t buy this home because it had enough bedrooms—we chose it because it brings people together.
